How the integration works

1. Create a CAPTCHA

Create a user account or log in with an existing one. Then create a new CAPTCHA or select an existing one. If you’re unsure whether TrustCaptcha is right for you, try our CAPTCHA service risk-free for 14 days at no cost.

On the CAPTCHA overview page, you will find all the important information, such as the site key and licence key, and you can also create your API key. Allow your websites to access your CAPTCHA by simply adding them to the access authorised domain list in the CAPTCHA security rules.

2. Integrate the CAPTCHA Plugin

Download our Shopware 6 CAPTCHA plugin and upload it in your Shopware 6 administration. After the upload, install and activate the extension from the extension list. For precise, step-by-step instructions, please read the CAPTCHA integration guide for Shopware 6 in our documentation.

TrustCaptcha integrates as a native Shopware 6 CAPTCHA. Once activated, Shopware automatically displays it on the standard storefront forms, including:

Checkout (guest order / registration during checkout)

Different platform instead of Shopware 6?
If you do not want to use Shopware 6 or have several websites or applications, you can select a different framework or platform here. If there is no pre-built integration from us for your preferred frontend technology, your software developers can integrate the CAPTCHA themselves – using our documentation – or ask our support-team for a pre-built integration solution.

3. Configure the TrustCaptcha Plugin

Log in as an admin to your Shopware 6 administration and open the basic shop settings. In the CAPTCHA section, select TrustCaptcha as the active CAPTCHA, enter your site-key and API key (formerly secret-key) and save. If you like, you can also adjust the language, theme and sensitivity to match your shop. You can find more details in our Shopware 6 documentation.

Which Shopware versions does the plugin support?

The plugin is built for Shopware 6 and works across recent Shopware 6.x releases. If you run Shopware 5 or a special enterprise setup, please contact our support team — we will be happy to help.

Which Shopware storefront forms does TrustCaptcha protect?

TrustCaptcha protects the standard Shopware 6 storefront forms — typically customer registration, the contact form, checkout (guest order and registration during checkout), newsletter sign-up, and product reviews. Where exactly the CAPTCHA appears is decided by Shopware and your storefront theme.

Does TrustCaptcha replace Shopware's built-in CAPTCHAs?

Yes. TrustCaptcha is integrated as a native CAPTCHA provider in Shopware 6. Once selected as the active CAPTCHA, it takes over from Shopware's bundled CAPTCHA solutions on every storefront form Shopware natively secures with a CAPTCHA.

Is the plugin suitable for shops in the EU?

Yes. TrustCaptcha is hosted in the EU, works without cookies, encrypts data in transit and removes data automatically — and we provide ready-to-use legal resources to make it easy to add TrustCaptcha to your Shopware shop's privacy notice.

Is the Shopware 6 plugin available in the Shopware Store?

The plugin is currently distributed as a download via TrustCaptcha and is not yet listed in the official Shopware Store. If you specifically require the Shopware Store version for your procurement workflow, please contact our support team.
